Snowy Days Card

(click on image to view larger)

Some of us are experiencing snowy days and some of us have not seen one snow flake yet.  But our Tilda is sure seeing them and can you believe she left home without her coat.  I know her warm heart is keeping her nice ad toasty!

Here is what I used to create this card:

Wassail Collection Pack Paper & Magnolia (905) Sweet Tilda purchased from StampingScrapping.

Snowflakes punched with Martha Stewart snowflake punch.

Flower punched from EK Success Retro mini flower.

Scallop punched using 1/2 inch circle punch from Stampin’ Up

From my stash:

Sentiment Stamp and Oval Shape.

Tiny Flowers on Tilda’s pig tails colored with Copic marker R39 Garnet.

Pearl in center of flowers were painted with Copic Marker (R39 Garnet) to match Tilda’s dress. Star Dust Stickles by Ranger.

Copic markers: Dress (R89, R85, R83,R39) Skin (E21, E00,R20) Hair (C7, C5, C3) Shoes (C7) Colorless Blender

Card base cardstock Pure Luxury Pure Ivory by Gina K. Designs.

Thank You So Much!

That’s the sentiment on my new card that I submitted to another challenge called Yellow and Black Challenge  (SSCC).  I really like that color combination but my personal stash did not have a lot of yellow and black elements.  After searching I found some paper, tiny buttons, and ribbon.  With those elements I was able to create a very generic card.  So besides having the challenge to do a card up in yellow and black it also created another challenge of using what you got in your stash.

And I also submitted this card in the Flutter by Wednesday Challenge.  The butterflies were created using a Martha Stewart punch.  I wanted the butterflies to appear flying so I coated them with Diamond Glaze to give them extra firmness and creased their wings.

Sweet Treats

Look at Sweet Mimosa all dressed in Holiday Red holding some delicious cupcakes! Mimosa wishes you a Joyous Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Christmas Tree Box_

The poinsettia and Christmas Tree box were cut out using my Cricut.  Garland was hand made using Flower soft and glitter. Rhinestones were applied using my i-Rock tool (so much fun).  The stars are mini brads.  And sweet Mimosa (stamp: Mimosa/cupcake) was colored using Copic markers.

Surprise Birthday Card

A friend will be celebrating her 60th Birthday and her family is giving her a surprise Birthday Party.  I decided to make her a card.  I went with a vintage theme because I love that look.  My only regret about the card is the flower on it.  I wish I would have made it smaller.  Let me know what you think.

Emma's Birthday Card_Mask

Little bit about the card.  The flower was made using a 3” scallop punch and book pages for the paper.  Lots of distress ink and two kinds of glitter.  The background papers are from a book and Christmas stack and inked using Distress inks (walnut stain, crushed olive & fired brick). The swirls were made using a Sizzix die. Ribbon is a muted gold.  The charm is from Michael’s. The sentiment reads “birthday wishes” to match the font on the book paper font.  Very, very pretty in person. My camera did not catch its richness.  Oh one more thing I added a scent to the flower called Christmas (my favorite from Scent My Cards) and can be purchased here: StampingScrapping

Thank you for visiting!  Hugs, Fran

The Foil Technique Card

My friend Billie over at created a beautiful card using foil.  She shared her technique instructions and I gave it a try.  It took about 3 times before I liked my results.  Its easier than you think and fun to do.  Here is the card I created following Billie’s instructions.  Thank you Billie.

Foil Card

I added some Stickles to the embossed ornaments and on the dots of the ribbon.  Why don’t you give the foil technique a try!

Where Do You Keep Your Favorite Recipes?

I made another coaster card journal but this time its made to hold favorite recipes.  Its for a someone in a Group I belong to but she has no clue that its for her.  I will be mailing it to her very soon.  The cutest thing about this book is the stamp I used called Chef Gilli by Gilli Designs.  The recipes element I had in one of my Digi Scrapbook Kits.  I printed it out and then covered the whole thing with Diamond Glaze.  The green bling are homemade and from my stash.  And the ribbons just add a little whimsy.  As an added bonus I wrote a quick and easy recipe on the first page of the book.  I thought you might like the recipe too!

O 1  14oz. can Ocean Spray Jellied or Whole Cranberry Sauce

O 1  12oz. bottle Heinz Chili Sauce

O 1  2 pound bag frozen pre-cooked, cocktail sized meatballs

Combine sauces in a large saucepan.  Cook over medium-low heat, stirring until smooth.  Add meatballs.  Cover and cook for 15 minutes or until meatballs are heated through, stirring occasionally.

Makes 30 appetizer servings.

SLOW COOKER PREPARATION:  Place meatballs in a slow cooker.  Combine sauces and pour over meatballs.  Cover and cook on high.

I finally took the step and created a Blog.  This is a new adventure for me and I hope your experience here is a good one.   There are many items I need to add but for now I like to share my latest project with you.

Magnolia Journey Book

This is a small book that can be used as a journal, an address book, or even a recipe book.  Its made using two coasters that are covered with card stock.  And bind with my Bind-it-All.  See how its made here:  (   I added a few ribbons & rub-on stitches by doodlebug designs.  The centerpiece is the very first Magnolia stamp I purchased called Tilda with Umbrella (sorry but I cannot remember the collection name).   I also made the large flower using 4 scallop circles (3” punch).  I colored them with TH distress inks (walnut stain, crushed olive & fired brick).  And lots of pinching in the center & lots of scrunching too.   Sprinkled with MS brownstone glitter.  Center has clear micro beads & more glitter.

Stay tuned there’s more to come.   Plus there will be freebies too.  So check back often.   Please leave a comment to let me know what you think of my Blog so far.

Hugs, Fran
