Flashback Time!

Today is Flashback time where we share a project using designs from the past.  I chose Birds In Spring.  I used the Outline image but it comes in color too.

Outline and Color

PROMO Birds in Spring Outlines

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Details:  My card is 6” x 6”. The card base is made from Neenah Card Stock 80#.  If you never worked with Neenah paper you are missing out on a great product and so reasonably priced in the M5D Store

The filigree mat is from the Silhouette Store.  What I did was size it to fit on the pink mat and layered the image on the filigree mat.  Then I used the print and cut feature.  I colored the flowers on the image using Copic markers (RV04 & RV06).  The leaves and birds were colored using Promarkers (Olive Green, Pear Green, Pastel Blue, Azure, True Blue, Canary Yellow, Peach, and the Blending marker).

I used papers from my stash for the flowers, leaves, and pink mat.  The flowers were punched from the Retro flower punch in three sizes.  The butterflies were punched using a Martha Stewart punch. Beads and Rhinestones are from my stash.  Then I added clear Wink of Stella glitter brush to the birds, flowers, leaves, & the tree branch on the image.  Everything is held together with the Best Glue Ever (name of glue).  I accidently found this glue online and just had to try it.  I love it because if you get glue where it shouldn’t be you just rub it away and its NON-TOXIC!

I hope you get a chance to go over to the M5D Blog to see all the other awesome creations. Thank you for taking the time to stop in on my blog.

Have a wonderful day!  Fran

Ballerina by Fran

The Star of my card is Abi Ballerina.  She is a digital image by All Dressed Up.  Abi was colored using both Copic Markers and Promarkers.  The card base is made from 110# Solar White and measures 5-1/2” by 6-3/4” (portrait style).

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Abi was colored on 110# card stock, solar white.  The mat behind Abi is water color paper. What I did was take three shades of Distress Ink (Worn Lipstick, Tattered Rose, & Peacock Feathers) and rubbed the colors on my work mat.  Sprayed them with water and placed the water color paper on the distress inks.  I loved how it turned out.  Then I measured out a border to add Stickles around the edge (Dry Fine Glitter, Diamond) by Ranger.

The small frame was made using a mold and covered with Fran-tage Shaved Ice fragments by Stampendous.  I added a dashed lines using Gelly Roll Glitter Pen (stardust).  And more of the glitter pen on the TuTu and around Abi.  Remaining embellishments on the corners are sequins and pearls.  And I used Glossy Accents for my adhesive.

There are so many neat products you can get from the Cutters Creek online store.  Stop in and look around.  And if you don’t see what you are interested in purchasing just ask Kim and she will try to get it for you.

It’s Officially Spring!

I hope you’re having Spring weather where you are.  Its still cool here in Northeast Maryland but so happy its not snowing.

Today is a new release from McMahon Five Designs.  I rarely make a card where the sentiment is the focal point.  But when I saw the new Sentimental Thoughts by Imagine That!  Digis by Kris I knew right away which direction I was going.

I chose this beautiful sentiment for my card.  Since I wanted the sentiment to be the focal point I kept my embellishments on the simple side.  The card base is Neenah Classic Crest Baronial Ivory 80#.  All other papers and embellishments are by DCWV (The Rustic Stack). I used Sizzix dies for the sentiment labels.  The scalloped border and swirl filigrees were cut using a Silhouette Portrait. And the flowers were cut from the DCWV papers.  The gold pearls are from my stash. And the card measures 6” by 5-1/2”.

Check out more beautiful creations at the McMahon Five Designs Blog.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope my project inspired you!

Raven Hair Beauty by Fran

I found a free digital image that I love.  But I had no clue on how I was gone to color it.  After much thought I chose my Copic Markers.  The image is mostly colored black but using dark greys to give it the appearance of looking black.  Black and red are the hardest colors to blend and shade.  But I think it turned out pretty good.  The rest of the colors came from the “E” family of Copic Markers.  I Just used the Warm Greys and Skin tone colors.  I used a Prisma colored pencil, white for the highlights on the hair.

The card dimensions are 5-1/2” by 6”.  The card base is made from Bazzill Simply Smooth, white card stock.  The other papers are from my stash.  The corners and filigree came from the Silhouette store and cut using the Silhouette.  I popped up the image using 3-D Adhesive Foam Pads.  The image’s ears and belt are decorated with Gold Vinyl stickers. And I added the same colored vinyl stickers to the borders of the black card stock.  I used two types of adhesive: ATG Tape Glider and Glossy Accents.  And to finish the card off I used a Wink of Stella Brush marker in Clear Glitter.

If there is anything that I used but isn’t listed in the Cutters Creek Online Store you can always contact Kim Bush here.  Kim is the one who got my Silhouette Portrait for me.
