Teacher’s Gifts From Hunter

These are the two clay pots that Pop Pop painted and the tag, seed packets & chalk Mom Mom contributed.  And Hunter wrote his name on each for both his teachers.

M5D Digi Release–Patched Up Accessories Freebie and More Digi Images

Today I bring you a round card (something different for me) with the cutest flowers on it.  The flower is a free digi image that comes in an 8 piece set that includes a balloon and kite.  And the set is F-R-E-E.  That’s right it’s free.  Go here to get your free set.

Card_Side View

I took the flower and made a grouping of various sizes and printed them on Neenah Classic Crest  Solar White 80# paper.  Then I paper pieced the flower and leaf portions.  The stems of the flowers are made with green and white twine.  The bow is also made with the same color twine to match the stems of the flowers.  The button on the bow and the butterfly are die cuts.  Everything was glued using the new GLUE (Quickie Glue Pen) that M5D is now carrying.  I love that glue pen because it works great with intricate pieces.  And so easy to use too!  I added Stickle dots to all the flowers in various colors to pick up the colors in the papers from my own paper supply.  The background was colored using Pebbles Classic Chalks (Pearlescent & Earth Tone Shades). And the scalloped edges on the outside and inside of the card are 1/2” circles to form the scallop edge.  The round card and the round layers were cut using my Cricut cutting machine.

Go here to see all the other specials for this month!

Thank you for visiting and please stop by again!  And check out more projects on the McMahon Five Designs Blog.

Close up of Uma Image

Close up of Rose on Uma Card

I just love this Rose and wanted to share a close-up for you.

You can find more of these roses plus other beautiful elements here.

Uma was printed on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# paperThe image was colored using Prisma colored pencils and the Gamsol technique (I guess by now you know its my favorite way of coloring both digital and stamped images.) The bow is made from seam binding and I dyed it to pick up the colors from the image using Tim Holtz’s Distress Ink Pads (Scattered Straw, Crushed Olive, & Worn Lipstick).  And the background colors are crushed olive & worn lipstick.  The music notes paper is from a digital image I printed on card stock.  I frayed the edges of the music notes paper using my Distrezz-it-All by Zutter.  And the mats are from my card stock stash and were cut with the Spellbinders Grand Calibur Machine using Grand Nestabilities Labels One.  The black line between the mats was created using a Spica Glitter pen.  Let me know what you think of Uma and don’t forget to look at all the digital images over at McMahon Five Designs.

"In joy or sadness, flowers are our constant friends." - Kozuko Okakura

Today I bring you a flower project I did on a tag.  I rarely do tags matter of fact this is only my second one.  I know most in the paper crafting world adore the tags created by Tim Holtz.  I know I do.  Although it is not in the Tim Holtz style it is more in the Fran style (wink).

However,  if you are like me and love pansies then I know you will love this new Pansy Digital Image by McMahon Five Designs.

Pansy

Pansy_closeup

I used two brands of ink pads to color the tag and bow (seam binding).  Three of the colors are by Tim Holtz, Distress Ink Pads (Vintage Photo,Pine Needles & Scattered Straw).  The other two colors are by Storage Unit Inks and More (Purple and Orchid).  The brand of glitter is Martha Stewart (color-Charoite).  The gold beads are Liquid Pearls (color-Buttercup).  I colored the pansy using Prisma Color Pencils on Neenah Classic Crest Baronial Ivory 80# paper (I love this paper).  And the butterflies and swirl were cut on my Cricut Expression using just scraps from my paper stash.  Then dusted with two different colors of glitter by Martha Stewart (Florentine Gold & Carrara Marble).

NOTE:  The glitter on the pansy was created using the new Pinpoint Roller Glue Pen now being sold at McMahon Five Designs.  The lines were so thin and the pen flowed so easily over the lines with none of those air bubble globs that happen with other pens.  It is absolutely a great product to use on all intricate pieces that need gluing.  I have several glue pens and they cannot do what this pen does.  You just need to give it a try.  I know you will love it.  And the price is right?

Happy Mother’s Day Card

Today I am sharing the Mother's Day card I created for Cutters Creek Design Team Blog. The main focus of the card is the adorable stamped image by Sarah Kay called Barbette Sewing. What a sweet image and so much fun to color.  I colored her using Prisma Colored Pencils and the Gamsol technique. I used the Spellbinders Nestabilities to frame her. I shaded the two layers of nestabilities with Chalk-Shimmers  and they are really fun to use. You can even use a water brush to paint your images using the Chalk Shimmers.

MDC_Front

The papers are by Echo Park called This & That Graceful Double Sided. They are gorgeous! And I even added a zig zag stitch around the border using yellow thread (I can’t believe my sew mini was cooperating).  I used seam binding for my ribbon and dyed it to match one of the colors in the paper using the Distress Ink Re-inkers.

The roses are from my personal stash however I colored them using Liquid Pearls Rouge and Gold Pearl. This medium is amazing to work with because you can use it right from the bottle, paint with a brush or dilute it with water for a shimmery look.

Check out the cute scissors (these come from my personal stash). And I covered them with Stickles Gold Glitter GlueCutters Creek is now carrying them and they are from Kaisercraft. Go and check them out to see all the beautiful shapes.

The corners on the card front and the scalloped borders on the inside of the card were made with the Rounded Banner Trio by Die-namics. The inside of the card uses the same paper from the This & That Graceful Double Sided 6x6 pad. And I punched 1/2 inch circles from the same paper to form a scallop border around the oval shape for the sentiment.   And you know I had to add some Stickles Glitter Glue to the small circles.  This card would make a great Birthday Card too!

Below are more photos of all the fun crafting supplies I used to make the card.

Seam Binding Before it was dyed with Distress Ink

Distress Re-Inker color used was Scattered Straw.

Seam Binding 4 Shades

What I did here was spray mist with water the darkest shade

to get the closest color to blend with the paper.

Happy 3rd Birthday

Yesterday we celebrated my great nephew’s third birthday.   And Hunter was invited to the party too.  Now Hunter made and completed his card for Colin last week.  But not Mom Mom she did her card the night before the party (I am the worse procrastinator).  Well with all that said here are two photos of Hunter’s card and mine.  (I promised Hunter that I would put his card on my blog so if you like you can leave him comments and I will read them to him (wink).

Colin's Birthday Card. by Hunter

Hunter has his own glitter pens and the sentiment is done in blue glitter. The dog is done in chocolate brown marker.  BTW he is just dying to use my Copic markers and I guess you already know my answer.

Colin's Birthday Card

The image is by Dustin Pike.  On the the hat and number I used my fav – Stickles.  The polka dots on the paper were made from glitter.  Don’t you just love that expression on the monkey’s face?  I colored him with new skin tone pencils I bought.  They are soft lead so they blend really nicely.  They are made by LYRA.

The party was fun, the food was real good, and Hunter made new friends!  A perfect ending to a perfect day with my family.

Home Tweet Home

Here is another new card I created for McMahon Five Designs (Design Team).  When I saw this new digi image with the adorable bird and birdhouse I just knew it was the image I was going to color for this release.

Home Tweet Home_Partial Inside_Closeup

Image colored with Prisma Colored Pencils using the Gamsol technique.  All papers and embellishments are from my stash.  But I bought new paper from Michael’s called Recollections Textured Cardstock.  The digi image was done on the iridescent cardstock (sparkly). The clouds and grass were cut using the Cricut Expression.  The corners of the paper and the border on the inside was made using punches. The cute little dots on the flowers are Liquid Pearls (petal pink).  I love the Liquid Pearls.  You can use it as a dimensional paint right from the bottle. You can paint with it using a brush and you can add water to it to use as a glaze.  I paper pieced the curtains on the windows.  And I put Frosted Lace Stickles on the windows.  The digi image and sentiment are from McMahon Five Designs store. Info on the image and sentiment is blow.
