Happy Birthday Gift Tag

One of my favorite projects is making large gift tags.  And the image I used goes so well with the theme of my tag.  And you can get this image and sentiments from McMahon Five Designs Store. The image is called Three Cakes and it comes in both jpg and png formats.  The sentiments are so cute too!

Envelope Mini Book

Today is another project I found on You Tube.   I always wanted to make a mini book but they just seemed so involved for me.  So I searched and found this You Tube Video.

Envelope Mini Book

I followed the video tutorial pretty closely but I made some variations to my mini envelope book.  Below the photos are all the details of how I created my mini book and the supplies used.

My last project was clean and simple but this one I went a little overboard and yet I like it.  I couldn’t stop myself from adding things to the cover until I ran out of room. Smile

I love the sentiment because that’s exactly what I am using this album for – all my bits and pieces.   I will keep tags, butterflies, flat flowers, hearts,  etc. in each envelope.  You know a place for everything and everything in its place (wink).

Details: Graphic 45 –A Ladies Diary – 8" x 8”  Paper Stack;  Inkssentials Glossy Accents; Stickles Glitter Glue by Ranger (Star Dust) and Distress Stickles Glitter Glue (Crushed Olive); Liquid Pearls by Ranger (White Opal & Petal Pink); Distress Ink Pad (Crushed Olive).

From My Stash:  Prima Flowers, Table Confetti (Wedding Collection Flowers –Green & Ivory), Butterflies (Butterfly Punch by Martha Stewart), Ric Rac (white), Sentiment (Silhouette Store), Tags by Marianne Design (LR0154), Quilled Flowers (Quilling paper strips), Five (A2-4.375 x 5.75) envelopes (dark brown), Ribbon (lt. green), Floral Border used on envelopes – Martha Stewart Border Punch.

Reminder:  If there is something I used and you cannot find at Cutters Creek Store just contact Kim Bush here and she may be able to special order it for you.  Kim ordered my Silhouette Portrait for me and I got it so quickly and love it.

One Layer Card by Fran

I love watching You Tube videos and one of my favorite card makers is Kristin Werner.  I just love her style.  Not long ago she made a Birthday card that I fell in love with and I just had to scrap lift it.  My card by no means looks as good as her card but I think I did a fairly good job.  If you like to watch the video on how she made the card  you can view it here:

Friday Focus–Birthday Card # 8 by Kristin Werner

I never was one to use white dashed lines on my cards but I thought this one really screamed white dashed lines needed.  I went a little further and stamped the inside of the card to match the outside.  I thought it gave it a neat look.  And I like the idea of a one layer card.  So easy to mail too.  Details on my card are below my photos.  In addition, I did not have any white embossing powder so I used WOW Embossing Powder in a Clear Glitter.  So in order to balance out the glitter in the embossing powder I added Stickles Glitter Glue in Star Dust on some of the dots on the flower centers and on some of the small dots throughout the stamped design.  The white dashes balance out the white I used to color in the flowers.

Wish Upon A Star

When I read the title of my project I just can’t help thinking of the Disney song lyrics:

When you wish upon a star
Makes no difference who you are
Anything your heart desires
Will come to you…

What more can I say about those words.  They have so much meaning to all of us.

And today I bring you the sweetest image from McMahon Five Designs.  The image is appropriately named “Wish Upon a Star”.   My card is below the M5D Images.  And all details about my card will be below my photos.

How do you like the sun?  I began an old hobby again that I used to do many years ago.  I started Quilling.  Of course I started off with a beginners kit and when I saw the sun I just knew it would be perfect embellishment for my card.  Did you ever feel like all thumbs?  Well I did when I began quilling.  But I’m beginning to get the hang of it again.

Here are the details of my card:
