The Reader

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

(I went overboard with the edge coloring but it grew on me)

Details:  The card measures approx. 5” by 6”.  The shaped card is from the Silhouette Store.  I used Neenah 80# Solar White card stock.  The image is by Saturated Canary called “Reader”.  I used Copic markers to color the skin.  And Promarkers for the rest of the image.  The shading was done using Tea Dye Distress Ink Pad.  And the glitter dots were created using Stickles, Platinum.  The sentiment is from the Internet and created using Paint Shop Pro.  And I added Glossy Accents to the glasses for effect.

Stop by the Cutters Creek Online Store for some awesome crafting accessories.  And if you have any questions about the products you can contact Kim Bush.

Water Color Class-Bonus Day

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Details:  Card Base is made with water Color paper. Scored and then water colored with Distress Ink Pads in colors: Dusty Concord. Shaded Lilac, & Broken China.  I just added water to the colors and painted each color on an angle.  Once dried I sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Dazzling Diamonds to get the shiny look.  The butterfly is a peel off sticker by Elizabeth Craft Designs and I placed the sticker on water color paper.  I colored each section of the butterfly with the same colors mentioned above but used Distress markers and water. The body, oval shapes, & round shapes on butterfly have Glossy Accents on them for more dimension.  And the butterfly is laying on a bed of cotton thread (pink and lilac).  The basic Design idea was created by Laura Sterckx, Instructor.

Spring Kitty

When I saw the little orange kitty I knew this is what I am using for my card today.  I have an orange cat who is the alpha.  I used the colored image which makes it so much easier when you need to get a card done quickly.

Details:  My card is a top folded card measuring just slightly more than 4-1/4 by 5-1/2”. I used Neenah 80# Solar White card stock for the top layer.  The two bottom layers are paper prints from my stash.  The background sky was created using chalks. The dirt under the grass is also made with chalks.  The sentiment from the Spring Kitty collection was cut using my Silhouette.  And the sun in the corner was made out of the scraps from one of the background papers and covered with Yellow and Spiced Marmalade Stickles.  Plus a little dab of Wink of Stella clear glitter here and there.

Thank You Theme by Fran

I’ve been experimenting with water coloring and today my card has been water colored using the *Limited Edition* Spring Seasonal Distress Pads (Peacock Feathers, Squeezed Lemonade, and Shaded Lilac).  The process is so easy adding a small amount of water to the ink and dabbing it on water color paper (Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Cardstock).  The flowers, bow, stamps are from my stash. (I dyed the ribbon using Squeezed Lemonade distress ink pad). Added a small amount of Stickles (Black Diamond) on the filigree swirls. Plus a little Wink of Stella Clear Glitter on the words “Thank You”.  My card size is 4-1/4” by 5-1/2”.  Everything is held together with Scrap Perfect Best Glue Ever.

Happy Mother’s Day

Today is a new release from McMahon Five Design Team.  I used an adorable digital package by Image That called A Flower For You.  Aren’t those little boys cute?  I decided to use both boys and make a card for my grandsons to give to their Mom for Mother’s day.

Details:  My card base and front panel is Neenah Card Stock in both 80# and 110#.  The remaining colored papers are from my stash.  The card measures 5-1/2” square.  The top layer I used both digital images since my grandsons have blonde and brown hair with blue eyes.  You can get this adorable digital package here.

On the blue layer I hand stitched the edges using a cross Stitch pattern.  The three corners have tiny bows created using a mold.   The flower is from my stash and I colored the top petals and pearl using two Copic Markers (Golden yellow and Chinese orange).  I added some Wink of Stella glitter brush to the bows, flowers, and grass.  Inside verse reads:  Some kids are born lucky.  They get to have the best kinda Mom.  And I’m the luckiest…coz You are mine.  Happy Mother’s Day… Mom!
