Hoppy Easter

What a fun image I chose to make a card.  And I have to make two of them for my grandsons. But today you only see the first one I made for McMahon Five Designs.  I went with the digital image that was already colored to save me some time.  And it really did!   But you also get the black line art image too if you want to color it.  Below the photos will be all the details about my card.

And if you get the time please visit the M5D Blog to see all the other great things available and the creations from some of the other designers.  And check out the neat digital papers by our new Illustrator Kim called Bella’s Beauties.

I closed the card to show that it folds up to a standard 5-1/2” x 4-1/4” card.  Folds very flat and will mail easily even with the extra embellishments.  I didn’t  want to make it too frilly since it will be for a little boy.

Details: Digital Image (Easter Bunny)-McMahon Five Designs; Designer Paper-McMahon Five Designs; Card Base-Desert Storm  (McMahon Five Designs); Text (Hoppy Easter) Easter Bunny Digital Image; All embellishments from my personal stash; Stickles Glitter Glue; Flower Soft (Hint of Violet Glitter Frosting on clouds); Card Shape (Center Step Card) – Silhouette Store; Adhesives used: Glossy Accents & kool tak Double-Sided Permanent Tape; Distress Ink Pad – Vintage Photo.

Don’t forget to stop by the M5D Blog to see more creations by the Design Team.

Reminder: The digital image also comes in a colored image too which is a big time saver if you need to get a card done at the last minute.

Black and White Cards

Over the weekend I was looking at some of my scrap papers that I’ve been accumulating for a long time.  So I thought I make a couple of small cards that can be used for just about any occasion.  I guess you can call them generic cards.  Here are a few photos of them.  Details about how I made the cards follow the photos.  Let me know what you think.

You can click on each photos for a closer view.

I used Black Soot Stickles on the butterfly’s body and on the scallop.

Details:  Card base for both cards is made from Neenah Card Stock (Classic Black Linen).  The open design on the cards was created using my Silhouette Portrait.  Butterfly is from my stash.  One day I cut out about 20 butterflies in white card stock using my Cricut Expression. The distressed rose above is  made from an old book using a Spellbinders die (by Donna – Salazar called Rose Creations  and distressed with Tim Holtz Distress inks in Black Soot and Pine Needles. The center of the rose is a flower rhinestone bling. Inside the cards is black and white design papers (from my stash).  And a 3” round scallop for a sentiment.  Easy Peasy Cards for that just right moment when you need a card real quick.  I will be making envelopes to fit each card since they are smaller than the average A2 card.

Footnote: The linked products were purchased at Cutters Creek Store and McMahon Five Designs Store.  Why don’t you stop by the store and check out their products.

Happy Easter by Fran

My project today is something I’ve been wanting to do for some time now.  I’ve seen so many other projects using silhouettes of their images and I really love the look.  So I went just a little outside the box with my Easter project.  Not your typical pretty Easter colors. I chose to use  black and white.   I really didn’t know how it would look in those colors but I surprised myself and I really like it.  Details about my project are below the photo.

Details:  Glossy Accents; Stickles (Black Diamond);  all embellishments created with my Silhouette Portrait;  Silhouette of Bunnies (Silhouette Store); Background paper & white paper (my stash); Frame (Dollar store).

I want to mention that Kim Bush of Cutters Creek special ordered my Silhouette Portrait for me and I was able to place it on layaway.  If you are interested in buying a Silhouette Die cutting machine check with Kim here.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope I gave some creative incentive.

A Ladies Diary–Graphic 45 Paper Collection

I get this 8x8” paper pack in my mailbox from Cutters Creek.  The paper is by Graphic 45 (one of my favs) called A Ladies Diary.  I look at each sheet of paper and the prints are beautiful on both sides.  Yep it is double sided.  A card makers dream.

I ponder a while and wonder what papers will I use.  And what image will I need to find that will go with the theme.  And then color it.  Then it hit me!  I will fussy cut one of the images from the paper and it will be my focal point.

I chose three prints to make my card.  And added black paper from my stash as the accent color.

Surprisingly what I thought would be a hard task to pull it all together started to flow so easily.  It took me a long time to make the card because I added die cuts, flowers,  butterflies, flourishes  using only the 3 pieces of paper from A Ladies Diary and the black paper from my stash.

Below the photo will be all the details on what I used to make the card.  And you can click on the photos to get a closer view.

Sidebar:  It couldn’t happen at the worse time but the battery to my digital camera died.  No it didn’t need re-charging it died and was not fixable.  New one ordered.  So Kim of Cutters Creek reminded me I could take pictures with my iPad Mini.  My first time for this but what made it worse I had to sync it to my computer first Sad smile.  When it rains it pours.  The photo images do not do the card justice but you still see how awesome the card turned out.  I don’t think I will be able to let go of this one Smile

Meet Sasha!

Well I was lucky to get this project completed before I was hit with a nasty sinus infection.  But I am not going to whine it about because I want you to meet Sasha.  What an adorable digital image. Gosh if you haven’t worked with digital images before you are really missing such an opportunity to find so many wonderful images over at McMahon Five Designs Store.

A friend of mine in another group did the cutest dry erase board and I’ve been wanted to do one too.  I had no clue that it could be so easy.  But after reading how she made her board I said I could do that.  So I went scouring in my craft closet (that needs cleaning out) and found an empty 8x10” frame.  I really liked the wood tone on it so I left it alone.  But you could alter the wood to match what you are making or to a room.  Well I guess I said enough.  Here is the photo of my dry erase board which Sasha so elegantly adorns it.  Details of all the embellishments will be below the photo.   And how I colored Sasha using my computer and Prisma Colored Pencils.
