Here is my take on the Sketch for this week.

Butterfly Card2

Label Closeup

The label was punched from an oval punch.  The frame inside the label and the sentiment are both Digi elements by MTMEFrame: So Sentimental  and Sentiment: All A Flutter

Bow&Flower-Closeup

I just love this little flower. It was cream color and then I colored it to match the butterfly using TH’s Distress Ink.

Butterfly Closeup

I created the butterfly by cutting 3 of them out of card stock. Glued them together for more stability. I  used a Cuttlebug embossing folder (swirls) on the butterfly.  And then used TH’s Distress Ink-Worn Lipstick and lots of Stickles by Ranger.  The butterfly is a Digi Image from MTME: All A Flutter

I hope you enjoyed the little tour around my card.  And I especially hope that I have inspired you in some way.  Enjoy the weekend!

This week I went for the spotlight technique using the beautiful Floral Digi Stamp called Bold Botanicals from MTME Shop.   Here are a few details on how I made this card.  I colored the the floral image with my Copic markers using the warm Grays: W1, W3, & W5.  The spotlight portion was also colored with Copic markers: RV04 and RV17.  You can learn more about this technique here.  (Thank you Deanna for finding this technique for me). Everything else to make the card came from my crafting supplies. If you have any questions about my card feel free to contact me at: francesb100@gmail.com

Here are a couple more photos showing close-ups of the spotlight portion of the card and the  flower I sprayed with Tattered Angel Graphite Glimmer Mist.

All That Glitters!

Brought to you by Paper Crafting World!

preview photo

Today I am sharing with you another Paper Crafting World Digi Stamp Challenge DT Project.  Our theme is Birthday and Glitter.  I wanted to make something a little different from my usual projects.  And while Blog hopping I ran across a cute box that holds mini cupcakes.  I really love how it turned out.  I know I will be making more of these especially for my smaller grandsons who love eating those cupcakes.  And who wouldn’t want to get this little box as an extra Birthday treat or just a little something for some one special on their Birthday.

A Quickie Birthday Card

I wanted to make something just a little different than what I’ve been creating lately.  I decided on a Birthday card to add to my collection of Birthday cards.  I really had fun making this one and it went so quickly because there was no coloring involved.  Let me know what you think.

Birthday Card for Blog

I used Kraft Paper card stock for my card.  Inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Tore a page from an old dictionary sewed around the edges.  I distressed it too.  Then I just added various types of flowers, pearls, a feather, & a brad.  The sentiment is a rub-on.

This is a great type of card where you can use up flowers and other elements that are just collecting dust.

Pretty Patterns Sketch #9

We’ve been having pretty weather all this week and its so hard to sit inside when the sun is shining so brightly.  However, there is one thing that keeps me in doors and that is crafting.  And with that said here is my card I created for the Pretty Patterns Sketch #9.

ManyThanksCard_MTME DT Challenge

Here’s a little bit about my card:  The label and sentiment are from My Time Made Easy-Digi Images called So Sentimental. The two pattern papers are by DCWV called Mango Frost.  The butterflies were created with a Martha Stewart punch.  And the ribbon was waiting in the ribbon box for me to place on the card.  I really love the colors and how well they all blend together.  Let me know what you think.

And now, let’s get sketchy! Here are a few deets: Feel free to use the MTME sketch on any project you want.  While participation with products from My Time Made Easy ™ LLC is appreciated, it is not required to participate. You can use products from ANY company. Sketch Keyword will be MTMEPPS09

Mother’s Day Project

Back in March I made Photo Rosettes (StampingScrapping.com) of my friend’s son and DIL’s baby pictures for their baby shower.  I wish I had a photo of it but I must have deleted it by mistake.  Well my friend shared the photo I made for her with her family and friends.  One of her friends loved it so much that she asked me if I would do the same thing for her to give to her Mom for Mother’s Day. She has 4 sisters but she could not find a baby picture of one of the sisters so I had to use an older picture of her.  I wanted to do something a little different so instead of using a vase to place the rosettes in I purchased a Wheel Barrow template from My Time Made Easy and created the wheel barrow to use to present the rosettes to her Mom.  I am so pleased with how it all turned out.  And the template cut out perfectly using my Cricut plus it was one of the easiest templates I have ever put together.  Here are some photos of the completed project.

Pretty Patterns Sketch #8

Its time for another My Time Made Easy Challenge!  This time the theme I chose was a Baby Card.  I wanted to make a traditional baby card using pretty pastel shades but the Digi Image I chose just didn’t shout out traditional to me.  Once I finished I had no clue what style I used.  After pondering over it I think I can say its more like a Rustic Victorian style (Is there such a style?).  I like the end result and I hope you do too.  I would love if you left a comment to let me know what you think.

NOTE:  I didn’t follow the sketch exactly this week because my mind’s eye kept going in a different direction for some reason.  The only difference is the top portion of the card & the doily.  Sometimes this happens but the important thing is that you like the end result.

Carriage2 for MTME web site

(click on photo to view larger image)

I used the cutest Digi Set to make my card this week.  Both the baby carriage and sentiment are from the same set.  There are 27 images in this set!  Click here to see the sketch (Pretty Patterns Sketch #8) for this week and all the beautiful creations from my other team members.

To complete my card I also used digi paper from my personal files. I came across the beads & charm that match closely to the digi paper & decided to string them and attach to the bow.  The doily was created using a die.  And the baby carriage is matted using a spellbinders die.  I wanted to create a different edge for the digi paper on the top portion of the card so I cut narrow strips and fan folded them to get the ruffle look.  I was going for the look of the top portion of the baby carriage when opened up.   And I used lots of pearls & stickles to give the card some bling.
