Oldest Grandson’s Birthday Card

My oldest Grandson will be 19 on his Birthday.  And the most challenging for me is finding elements that I like to use on masculine cards for various ages.  Teenagers are the hardest unless their interests are easy to duplicate and help me make a card.  I saw a die and a card on Simon Say’s Stamp that I really liked.  And thinking of my Grandson I knew that something abstract would capture his interest.  The photos below show what I made for him.  But I am sure what he will find inside the card will really please him.

Below the photos will be a list of everything I used on the card.

Supplies:                  Cardstock came from my stash and purchased at Michael’s.

Dies:                             Ring Frame (Simon Say’s Stamp)----Card Holder (www.joycrafts.nl)

Stamp:                        Ombre Sentiments: Birthday from WWW.PAPERTRYINK.COM  (Inside of card).

Happy Birthday:  I used my Scan N’ Cut to cut out a stamped image of the Happy Birthday three times.    I glued all three of them together for thickness.  I covered them with Glossy Accents but I wanted more dimension so I used black enamel accents to get the high glossy look.  And for a little touch of bling I outlined the sentiment with wink of stella.

Card Stand:             I die cut it three times and glued each one together to provide strength so

it will hold the card.  Lots of cutting and gluing.

The pictures below show the card that gave me the inspiration so I cased it.  And to the right of the card is a picture of the template.

You can visit Simon Say’s Stamp to view the die and more inspirational cards.
