Dancing Daphine

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

One of my challenges I wanted to do was water color an image.  I fell in love with Dancing Daphine and knew it was my challenge image.  Clearly I wasn’t thinking about all the detail ha ha.  I used two different mediums to get my results.  Below are the supplies I used in detail.

Front:   Prima 6x6 Watercolor Paper Pad (Image, border & flower)

Water Color Mediums:  Prima Watercolor Pencils for Hair and skin tones

Derwent Inktense Pencils for image, shadow & border

Memory Box Cross Stitched Frame Borders

Have A Rockin’ Birthday

Can you believe it!  I haven’t made a card since Valentine’s Day.  Just a lot of life that needed my attention more so than crafting.  I am not sure if I will be cranking out cards in the future.  But I do need to make more Birthday and Thank You cards for my stash.  And then I can post them to my Blog.

I will be taking another water color class very soon.  I will be learning to use different mediums.  Hopefully I will make some cards using the new techniques I learn.

The card today was made for my Grandson who turn 15 on 9/6/2015.  Masculine cards are still a challenge for me especially for a teenager.  I hope you like what I selected for my Grandson.

Happy Valentine’s Day

Below are Valentine’s cards I made for my Hubby and grandsons.  I really had a lot of fun making them. The card for my hubby is a shaker card (my first one).  The two cards with the Bee and Frog are for my grandsons.  Below each photo are the supplies I used to create the cards.

Happy Birthday Hunter!

Its been a while since I posted to my Blog.  Seems like forever.  I was in one of those creative slumps.

My Grandson’s Birthday was in January and I just knew that I wanted to make him a card.  And his most favorite snack is ice cream.  However, I really needed some inspiration and so I went YouTube hunting to watch one of my favorite greeting card designers, Jennifer McGuire.  And on her YouTube channel I found a card where she made an ice cream cone.  So I went shopping for all the supplies she used so I could make the ice cream cone she demonstrated.  It goes without saying that once I watched Jennifer’s video I was inspired and ready to create again.

Online Card Class Project

I joined an Online Card Class (10 days plus a bonus day of fun).  And the title of the class was Stretch Your Stamps 2.  What an awesome class! So many different ways to use your stamps.  The class taught you how to get more uses out of your stamps beside the obvious way.  It was a class that taught you to “look at your stamps in a whole new way”.

This card is my only project I was able to make due to time constraints. But I plan to use the material from the class to make more projects in the near future.  All I can say is that the Online Card Class was the bomb!

My Project

I chose one stamp and used 4 different dye ink colors.  I coated the stamp images using the Wink of Stella Clear brush glitter. The sentiment comes from Simply Fabulous Saying stamp set. And I added 5 sequins and covered the tiny hole in the center with Lavender Stickles.

Stamp came from the Rounded Diamonds Set

Happy Birthday Levi!

My youngest grandson will be 5 years old on the 19th.  Hunter and I made birthday cards for him.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This is the card Hunter helped to make.  He used the Cuttlebug for the first time and cut out all the balloons using glitter paper.  I embossed the background and attached the twine.  I am so proud of Hunter and how well the balloons turned out.

This is my card for Levi.  He has an aquarium and I thought he would get a charge out of this card.  The inspiration for the card came from Vicky Papaioannou.  The stamp set is called Best Fishes and comes with a corresponding dies called Fish and Bowl.  The fish in the fish bowl were colored with Copic markers.  The little fish near the sentiment were stamped using Memento ink pads.  I put little googly eyes on the fish to make the card more fun.  The water was colored with Salty Ocean Distress ink and I put droplets of water on the water to give a watery look.  The sentiment is inlaid for more dimension.  I had fun making this card and I’m sure Levi is going to love it especially the googly eyes.

Snowman Ornament by Fran

Today I am sharing a Christmas Tree ornament.  You know how you start thinking about Christmas in July to try to get a head start on things.  And I like to make small gifts to hang on the Christmas Tree for my family.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I used a Magnolia snowman stamp from my stash.  I stamped it on an oval shape card stock and colored it with my Inktense Paint pencils and my Dove pen applicator.  The star on top his head was colored in yellow gold and then I applied Glossy Accents for a neat dimension.  Behind the snowman are tiny stickle dots using Star Dust.  I placed three rows of iridescent sequins on the bottom portion of the snowman to give it a snowy look.  Behind the snowman panel is a snowflake embossed oval panel.  And behind the embossed panel (larger of the three) has snowflakes around the border and colored with Broken China Distress Ink (very lightly).  Every other snowflake has a Clear Rhinestone in the center.  (The snowflakes were punched using a Martha Stewart punch).  The hanging hook is made from snowflake printed ribbon.  Attached using Glossy Accents for a strong hold.  Two of the oval layers are popped up using dimensional adhesive.

Everything in the store is now 50% off so this is a great time to stock up  on many more products at cutterscreek.com
