McMahon Release-Easter Strawberries

I’m so glad you stopped by to take a peek at my card created for McMahon Five Designs.  The digital image I chose was a group of luscious strawberries.  I will admit that they are my favorite summer fruit.  And every Birthday which is in April I get a Strawberry shortcake.  And guess what? I eat the largest strawberry in the center.  And if you know me well you know that the largest strawberry belongs to me.

Back to my card.  If you have been following me lately you probably noticed that I am using my Paint Shop Pro (PSP) Program to color some of the digital images.  This time I used PSP to color the entire image.  Lots of fun too!  Details about the card are below the photos.

Mmmmm! Strawberries dipped in melted chocolate and decorated with candy writers.

I chose this sentiment for my card.

I printed the digital image of the strawberries on gold iridescent card stock by Recollections. The shimmer is very subtle.  I love that card stock.  It gave the strawberries a nice shimmer to them.  I mentioned earlier that I used PSP to color the digital image.  And used several plugins to achieve a dripping look on the berries.  I don’t know if you can notice it but it really looks cool in person.  I could have never done that with my colored pencils because I am not an artist by no means.  I used a strip of glitter ribbon by American Crafts and the color is Spinach.  The paper bow is a remnant from an paper Easter Egg just sized smaller with the cute flower in the center which is part of the digital image.  I re-sized and colored them in PSP.  And I added Stickles Glitter Glue in lime green to the centers.  The stripe paper is from my stash and for the life of me I cannot remember when I bought it and where I bought it.  Its double sided but I stuck with the one side.  On the inside of the card I printed the sentiment on plain white card stock.  Then cut it out using the Spellbinders Mega Nestabilities Curved Rectangles. I used two sizes to get the frame to enhance the sentiment.  And the border below the sentiment was made with a Martha Stewart punch.  Last by not least the card base is Neenah Card Stock in White.  If you have not ever used Neenah paper before you just have to try it.  It works well with Copic markers and Prisms Colored Pencils.  I’m sure other mediums work well but I only tried Copic markers and Prisma colored pencils on it.

Now you just have to hop over to McMahon Five Designs Blog to see what the other design team members did for their project.  And if you have time leave a little love for them.  We all need love, right?
