PoppyCloseup_6-23-11Release Photo

Ms. Poppy is one the latest digi stamp released by:

McMahon Five Designs.

Isn’t she cute? I really enjoyed coloring her using my Prisma Color Pencils and I only used 6 colors and Neenah Classic Crest, Solar White 80# Card Stock. Then I pulled out a basket (for bling & lace), a couple storage boxes (dies and flourishes), my Cuttlebug (to emboss the leaves and flowers with the swirl embossing folder),  four punches (to punch out the 2 retro flowers, MS butterfly, & scalloped round circle),  Just Rite stamp (to create the sentiment), and a couple of distress inks to make Ms. Poppy stand out on the card.

Take your time over at M5D’s Blog and look at all the wonderful projects shared by other Design Team members.

Thank you for stopping by my Blog and hope you have a wonderful day!

You’re So Tweet!

Today I bring you a cute little birdie card made for the Paper Crafting World Digi Stamp Challenge.  I’ve been doing a lot of coloring with my Prisma Color Pencils and wanted to do something a little different (for me) with the image.  So what better way to dress up my little birdie friend then with pretty patterned paper and other accents.  I bring you my You’re So Tweet card.

You're So Tweet_PCW 6-20 Challenge Photo

The theme for this challenge was to use the colors yellow, orange and red.

For the birdie’s chest I used flower soft.  Added some stickles to the flower she is holding.  And some retro flowers with homemade dew drops in the centers curved around her.

Stop over at the Paper Crafting World Blog and see some of the other creations from my fellow Creative Designers.

Asia At The Circus

You can see the My Time Made Easy Pretty Patterns Sketch #14 Card here:

***************************************************************************************************************************

Today is my debut for the McMahon Five Design Team.  And I used one of the most adorable digital images named Asia At That Circus.  The name itself leaves no guessing on what theme I chose to create my project.

AsiaAtTheCircus_Mini TeePee_Fran

The card is called Mini Teepee. I got the inspiration from the current issue of the Magnolia Ink Magazine. Here is the blog link of the person who created the mini teepee for Magnolia Ink.

Here’s a close-up of the image of Asia at the Circus.

She was colored with Prisma Colored Pencils.

On one of the 3 sides I put a cut file of a Circus Tent.

And on third side I put a cut file of a Ticket Booth and some mini computer generated tickets.

Pretty Patterns Sketch #14

Its time again for another great sketch from My Time Made Easy.  Here is the sketch for this week’s challenge.

MTMEPPS14

If you follow my blog you know that I love working with vivid colors but I switched up this time.  I fell in love with a new digital paper pattern called Seawater.  The pattern is simple and the colors are very soft.  I used all the colors except for one because it was a dark color.  I wanted to stay more in the pastel theme.  The labels in the center of my card is a cut file accent called Trendy Tags Set 3 of 6.

Baby Card_MTME_PPS14

As you can see I stayed very simple this time.

Please visit the MTME Blog to get all the details about joining in the challenge and to see what the other Design Team Members created.  There is an awful lot of inspiration over there for you to see.

Happy Creating!

Fran

Super Dad!

Here is my card I made for My Time Made Easy Challenge

My Grandson Hunter picked out the papers because this is the card him and his brother will be giving their Dad on Father’s Day.

The cute Teddy Bear Digi Image can be found here.

You may want to check out the For Dad © set of sentiments as they just might help capture that perfect sentimental message from the heart!

(This is the set where I got the label idea and sentiment used on the card).

Extra Extra Read All About It

HaveYouHeardTheNews_Card

Tilda will be sharing some great news with you tomorrow (Monday). So stop back to read all about it.  Newspaper background on the card was crumpled and distressed with Gray ink and Dusty Concord DI. Tilda was colored using Prisma Color Pencils and Gamsol Technique.

HaveYouHeardTheNews_Labelcloseup

The text on the label was computer generated and shaped using Paint Shop Pro. The scalloped label and butterfly was punched.  Both were edged with Dusty Concord Distress ink.

HaveYouHeardTheNews_Butterflycloseup

This is my favorite butterfly to date.  I found it online as a freebie and created a svg file then cut it out with my Cricut.  Added some Stickles for added bling.  I love my stickles as some you well know :)

HaveYouHeardTheNews_RibbonCloseup

I love how my bow turned out because I am the worse at making bows.  Added a Prima Rose with more Stickles for that special bling touch :)

megaphone

Did you notice this megaphone on the card?  If not, go back and check it out.  When I finished the card I thought it needed just one more accent on it.  I thought what better embellishment then a megaphone for Tilda to get her message out, loud and clear.  Found the image online and again made a svg file to cut on the Cricut.  Added some black lines for dimension and lots of diamond glaze to make it nice and shiny.  What do you think of my homemade embellishment?

Thank you so much for visiting and don’t forget to come back tomorrow for my news.

My Super Hero

Father's Day Card_PCW Challenge_6-6-11

My card today was designed for the Paper Crafting World Challenge (PCW).  The theme is masculine and geared for Father’s Day.  What I wanted to do was to make a card for a child to give to his Dad.  And I think that the image used is just perfect for this theme.  Also I created an inside and although I am not really fond of it I am still going to use it.

Everything that made this card come together came from my supply bin. The digi image is form Paper Crafting World. And the image was colored with Prisma Coloring Pencils.  The rosette on the front of the card was handmade by me because I wanted something a little smaller than the original TH die. The inside of the card has a silhouette of the image and computer generated text.

My Very First Card With A Scene

Little did I know how much was involved making a Round Easel Card plus adding a scene.  Once I began making it I wanted to quit because I thought I bit off more than I could chew.  But you know me (maybe you don’t) but I am a very persistent type person and thought just keep making the card and see what happens.  Well it did take me a while to make it because of time so I could only work on it here and there.  I finally finished it last night.  How about taking a look at it and let me know what you think.  And for those that have done cards with a scene I sure would appreciate your input on what  you would do differently.  All tips are welcome.

Camping Scene Card_Water Close-up

This is the bottom portion of the card showing the water, sand and wooded area. I was very, very limited with camping elements so I went online and found some cartoonish pictures and used them as my elements.  With a little help from Paint Shop Pro (coloring & re-sizing).  I think they look pretty good. (Click on photo to view larger).

Camping Scene Card_Bears Closeup

You can see that this card will be for a man or boy.  It can be used for Father’s Day or a Birthday. The image (Bears and Trees) is a Digi Image from My Time Made Easy (MTME). You can see more about the  image here.   (Click on photo to view larger).

happy trails

I really had fun coloring the image using Prisma Color Pencils and the Gamsol technique.  Don’t Papa Beat and the Little Guy look happy?  Do you think its because they caught all those fish or just having a great time together.?  I think its both.  And I bet Mamma Bear is enjoying the peace and quiet and not having to cook.

Camping Scene Card

Here is what the card looks like in its entirety.  (Click on photo to view larger).
