You Are Beautiful

(click on photo for a larger view)

I made this card back in August and did not write down everything I used.  So the details below are from me looking at the photo and piecing together the items used to create the card.  If you have any particular questions about the card that is not covered in the details feel free to contact me.

DETAILS:

Stamps used: Sketch Ranunculus and Spring Flowers

Dies used:  Hydrangea Petals and Sizzix Branch w/Leaves #656064 (old) but I found a die very close to it on EBay.

Sentiment: Sketch Ranunculus Stamp set.

Items from my stash: Mini Prills (Sweet Shoppe); Inks (Versafine Onyx black and MFT* (Gumdrop Green); Embossing Powder (Ranger superfine detail clear); Sequins(iridescent) & clear drops (PPP*); Spectrum Noir Glitter Brush Pen with Sparkle, Clear Overlay; Prisma Colored Pencils; Recollections card stock for card base and fronts; Green card stock for leaves.

NOTE:  There are two card fronts used so I aligned the two and stamped the leaves using the Spring Flowers Stamp.  Then I attached the larger card front to the base of the card.  I added a foam backing to the smaller card front (to add dimension) and aligned the stamped leaves with both card fronts.  The edge of the card base was colored with Spectrum Noir Glitter Brush Pen with Sparkle, Clear Overlay; the die cut leaves were cut from green card stock and shaded using Prisma Colored Pencils.

Inside Sentiment (no photo available): by Sweet’ N Sassy – Reads “I will never be able to thank you enough for the blessing you have been in my life.”

Friend

(you can click on photo to view larger)

I am trying to catch up with my blog posts before Christmas gets here, lol.  I made this card for a special friend who has got me through some rough times.  She has already received the card and loved it.

Details:

The Floral butterfly (Deep Red Cling Stamps) was stamped with white embossing powder.  The background was created using Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. The sentiment Friend and Dragonflies are chipboard.  They were dipped in VersaMark.  The dragonflies were covered with WOW embossing powder, Bodacious blue glitter.  The friend chipboard was covered with WOW embossing powder, White Twinkle glitter.  Papers used: Neenah 80# and 100#, Neenah Creative Collection Metallic Chalice Silver.  Corners of papers were clipped with a Crop-A-Dile Chomper in Deco.  Also used Glossy accents to make the dragonflies trail and added blue sequins from my stash.  And last but not least I applied Delicata Silver Ink on the blue background edges.

Thank You For Nurses

The medical clinic I go to have such wonderful nurses that take such good care of me.  I call them my angels.  I usually send them cards a couple times throughout the year.  I made this card to show them my appreciation for all they do for me.

Details:

Nurse Digital Image – Paper Shelter digital Images (http://www.thepapershelter.com/index.php?main_page=).  Image was colored using Stabilo Chalk Pastel Coloring Pencils.

Hint: when using chalk pencils you need to set the chalk or else it will smear or come off.  I use hair spray to set the chalk.

Thank You Sentiment – Friendly Phrases Stamp by Stampendous.

The tiny band Aids are also digital stamps (Nurse’s Medical Equipment bought from Etsy).

Cardstock – Used two shades of Kraft paper (my stash)

Border – on card front was created using Cross Stitched Frame Borders by Memory box.

BTW – All the nurses loved the card.

Happy Halloween!

Thank You

I created several cards since August but I haven’t had the chance to post them to the Blog. I am beginning to post today one of the first cards I created.

Today I am starting with a Thank You Card I created for a lovely friend who has been sending me such beautiful creations that she has sewn.  I created this card to thank her.   It is nothing compared to everything she has done for me but its at least my way of telling my friend how much I appreciate her.

And what a talented seamstress she is!  Here is her blog link if you would like to see her creations: https://abitofmelac.wordpress.com/2016/10/14/one-week-and-one-day-late/  (This is the most current post). There is so much more to see of her many talents besides sewing by checking the archives.

Details:

o Stamp - Mondo Magnolia by Ellen Hutson

o Thank You Sentiment - Papertrey Ink, Wonderful words: thank you die

o Distress Watercolor Cardstock by Tim Holtz (for card front).

o Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens

o Spectrum Noir Sparkle Clear Overlay (dabbed lightly on flower petals)

o Sequins – Pretty Pink Posh, gold and pink and added seed beads to the sequins.

o Card Base - Neenah Solar White (100#)

I stamped the image in VersaMark and then embossed the edges of the flower with Ranger Super Fine Detailed Gold and heat set using my heat tool.

I water colored the Magnolia using  water color paper.  The water color medium used was Zig Clean Color Brush pens in Pinks and Purple.  The white highlights on the flower were created using a Signo Uni-Ball broad pen in white pigment ink.  The Thank You sentiment was covered with VersaMark and dipped in the gold embossing powder and using my heat tool to set the embossing the powder.

The background behind the flower was done using the Zig Brush Pens in a light shade of grey and adding water to thin out the color away from the image.

The card base edges were rubbed with VersaMark and applied the Gold Embossing powder and heat set it with the heat tool.  This gave a nice edge for the base card and pulled all the gold embossing detail together.

Thank you for stopping by and would love your comments.  If you have any questions about how I created the card feel free to contact me.

Lotus Flower Birthday

Its been a while since I posted and since then I have made a few cards.  This is the first in the series.

I saw the technique I used on Penny Ward’s Blog:  http://www.pennywardink.com/2016/04/a-friendly-birthday.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+PennysScrapPaperScissors+%28Penny%27s+Scrap+Paper+Scissors%29 and so I case’d her card.

Here are the products I used to create my card:

Stamp by Waffle Flower: Lotus Flower

Butterfly Stamp: Doily Lace Butterflies by Martha Stewart

(used my Scan N’ Cut to cut out the butterfly)

Sentiment by Hero Arts: Messages With Flourish

   Rectangle Die: Deckled Rectangles, large

   Distress Ink: Spiced Marmalade

Sequins: 28 Lilac Lane, yellow and orange

Sewing Again!

My sewing machine was sitting on the shelf collecting dust and looking so lonely.  I thought it over and took it off the shelf and dusted it off.  Its a real old machine but I thought why not give sewing a try again.  Now what should I make?  I wanted something real easy because I haven’t sewn for years.  I looked in my collection of patterns and found a pattern for Boxer Shorts for little boys and girls. I have two small grandsons and I said what a neat thing to make for them.  Oh my goodness I felt like a beginner sewer again but by the time I made the second pair I was sewing making less mistakes.  Photos below are the boxers for my Grandsons and they love them.  I plan to make them another pair real soon.

I guess you can see they love anything John Deere.  I found another John Deere fabric and will be making 2 pair out of the fabric.

Thank you for stopping by,

Oldest Grandson’s Birthday Card

My oldest Grandson will be 19 on his Birthday.  And the most challenging for me is finding elements that I like to use on masculine cards for various ages.  Teenagers are the hardest unless their interests are easy to duplicate and help me make a card.  I saw a die and a card on Simon Say’s Stamp that I really liked.  And thinking of my Grandson I knew that something abstract would capture his interest.  The photos below show what I made for him.  But I am sure what he will find inside the card will really please him.

Below the photos will be a list of everything I used on the card.

Front

Inside

Card Stand

Supplies:                  Cardstock came from my stash and purchased at Michael’s.

Dies:                             Ring Frame (Simon Say’s Stamp)----Card Holder (www.joycrafts.nl)

Stamp:                        Ombre Sentiments: Birthday from WWW.PAPERTRYINK.COM  (Inside of card).

Happy Birthday:  I used my Scan N’ Cut to cut out a stamped image of the Happy Birthday three times.    I glued all three of them together for thickness.  I covered them with Glossy Accents but I wanted more dimension so I used black enamel accents to get the high glossy look.  And for a little touch of bling I outlined the sentiment with wink of stella.

Card Stand:             I die cut it three times and glued each one together to provide strength so

it will hold the card.  Lots of cutting and gluing.

The pictures below show the card that gave me the inspiration so I cased it.  And to the right of the card is a picture of the template.

You can visit Simon Say’s Stamp to view the die and more inspirational cards.

Grandsons’ Easter Cards

Hunter

Levi

Inside sentiment for both cards read: (translation: happy easter)

Oh gosh where do I begin to list all the products I used to make both cards.  Michelangelo as far a I know used paint and the walls and ceilings were his paper.  However, my masterpieces, lol used a lot more supplies.

Paper:  Hero Arts Watercolor Paper; Neenah 100# Solar Crest white for the card bases.

The stamps and sentiments are from Lawn Fawn named Chirpy Chirp Chirp.

Printed paper on Eggs is from my stash that I got from a yard sale.

I used Simon Says Stamp – Intense Black for the front and inside of cards for the sentiments.  Plus for stamping all the images.

The water color medium used on both cards is by Prisma  (Water Soluble Oil Pastels).  They are awesome!

I used AmazaPens Sketch Fineliners to color the little flowers.

The frames of the cards were cut out using Cross Stitched Frame Borders by Memory Box.

Glue used to hold everything together was Multi Medium Matte by Ranger.

And I used three types of glitter:  Wink of Stella for both cards.  Spectrum noir Sparkle Glitter Brush Clear Overlay on the butterfly.  And for the centers of each flower I used Hero Arts Prisma Glitter.

And to help me make these cards quicker I used my Scan N’ Cut to cut out all the Chicks, Eggs, paint brushes, Bunny Ears, Paint can.  It really did a nice job fussy cutting them out.

I am so glad you stopped by!

Wishing you and your family a very Happy & Blessed Easter and Spring!

Basketball Card

Below are photo images of a Basketball card I made for Hunter.  He had a very good season since it was his first time playing basketball.  I wanted to show him how proud we are that he did so well.  So the card and a few goodies was our tribute to him.  Oh! He loved the card and all his goodies.

I have a die that creates an easel to showcase your card.  I had to cut it out two times on 100# cardstock in order for it to support the card.  I loved how it turned out.

Hunter’s uniform was reversible.  One side was yellow with blue trimming and the other side was blue with yellow trimming.  He wore blue for his last game.  His number was 14.  I used Prisma colored pencils and gamsol to color the images. The image is digital created by Digi Stamp Boutique.  And my inspiration came from Victoria Bailey for Digi Stamp Boutique.  The papers are digital papers I downloaded from Etsy by MNINEDESIGNS and they were a vintage style.  So to make it look more vintage I sandpapered the papers to give them an old look.  The stars were silver metal so I colored them with a copic marker dark burnt orange.  And covered them with Glossy Accents.  The number 14 and the sentiment (congratulations) were cut on my Scan n’ Cut. And of course a little clear wink of Stella here and there.

This is the inside of the card using the vintage digital papers.  The sentiment came with the Digi Stamp Boutique download.  I used Paint Shop Pro to print the sentiment on the digital paper.  The stars were die cut from cardstock and colored with a copic marker and sealed with Glossy Accents.  I sandpapered the inside of the card too.

I really had fun making this card.  And it makes it more fun making it for a grandson.   If you have any questions about the card and/or the easel stand please feel free to ask.

Monster Trucks Rule!

This card was created for my Grandson’s 9th Birthday.  He is crazy for all types of trucks and off road vehicles.

The image is a digital image printed on Neenah card stock.  I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush warterbase markers to color the image and the background.  The sentiment on the flag was created with a computer.  And the name ‘Hunter’ was created using a Martha Stewart Alphabet punch (one of the best buys I ever made).  The size of the letters are just right for card making.  Cardstock and embellishments are from my stash.

This is another card I created for 2016.  The stamp I used is a stamp on a wooden block.  It is called Nested Bird by Stampendous.  I stamped it on water color paper by Tim Holtz.  I used the ZIG Clean Color Real Brush water color brushes.  The blue background was created using TH Distress Ink, Salty Ocean.  And no card is complete for me until I use Wink of Stella Clear Glitter. The 'Thank You' sentiment is stamped on 40 lb. Vellum and heat embossed with WOW Bodacious Blue Embossing Glitter (the sentiment does not show up well in the photo). The inside sentiment reads ...from the bottom of my heart!

I am currently working on my next card using my new water color pencils by Faber Castell.  It is still in the planning stages.
